Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To facilitate and to support judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, and promote the rule of law, independence and impartiality of the judiciary, including by supporting the efforts to improve the effectiveness of national justice systems, and the effective enforcement of decisions.

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To promote judicial cooperation in civil matters and to contribute to the effective and coherent application and enforcement of EU instruments to create a genuine European area of justice in civil and commercial matters and in the field of family law
  • Priority 2: To promote judicial cooperation in criminal matters and to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU mutual recognition instruments in criminal matters
  • Priority 3 : To contribute to the effective and coherent application of the EU acquis relating to judicial cooperation in civil, commercial and criminal matters

Among financed actions

  • Facilitating cooperation between competent authorities and agencies
  • Mutual learning, identifying and exchange of best practices, development of working methods which may be transferable to other participating countries
  • Analytical activities, including data collection, statistics, surveys, research
  • Exchange and provision of information and development of information tools
  • Capacity building for professionals
  • Dissemination and awareness raising activities
  • Training

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories, excluding Denmark)
    • Non-EU states: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Justice Programme (Click here)
  • A consortium composed of
      • at least 2 entities from 2 different eligible countries, (see details on the call document) must be constituted (For priorities 1 and 2)
      • only one applicant must be constituted (For priority 3)

Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 5.9 million euro
  • Amount of the grant:
    • up to 75.000 euro (priority 1: civil matters)
    • between 75.000 euro and 350.000 euro (priority 2 :criminal matters and priority 3:EJN civil and criminal)
  • Funding rate: up to 90% of the total eligible costs
