Priorities and funded actions

Objective

To create a common research framework with the necessary infrastructure to enable advanced research and analysis on information integrity in the EU.

Priorities

  • Priority 1: securing or setting up necessary technological infrastructure, comprising both hardware and software capacities, needed for advanced research on information integrity
  • Priority 2: supporting, acquiring, or creating a set of dedicated tools to facilitate research on information integrity and the analysis of information manipulation
  • Priority 3: making the infrastructure, dedicated tools and computational capacity accessible to researchers and civil society
  • Priority 4: leveraging the tools and mechanisms for research that are provided by legislation by increasing the capacity of the research community and civil society to carry out high impact research on the basis of online platforms’ data
  • Priority 5: set up and implement a grant structure to distribute funds to third parties from the research and civil society communities

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • Non-EU countries: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Digital Europe Programme (list of participating countries)
  • Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal
  • A consortium composed of minimum 4 independent applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities) from 4 different eligible countries must be constituted.

Additional information

  • Initial duration of the action: between 24 and 30 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.

  • Total budget of the call: 6 million euros
  • Amount of the grant: between 5.000.000 and 6.000.000 euros

The grant awarded may be lower than the amount requested.

  • Funding rate: 100% of the total eligible costs
