Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To support craftsmen across the EU in creating traditional handicraft products, regardless of their country of origin
  • To promote crafts to attract tourists to regions where traditional or geographically indicated products are made, encouraging local purchases and interest in traditional techniques
  • To encourage craftsmen to preserve and continue traditional production methods
  • To motivate young people to pursue careers in traditional and artisanal crafts
  • To create opportunities for collaboration between craftsmen from different EU regions, including via the EU Tourism Platform
  • To boost promotion and sales of artisanal products, especially those with geographical indications, including through digital channels

Priorities

  • Priority 1: To provide direct support to craftsmen and SMEs to help them develop, promote, and scale traditional handicraft products
  • Priority 2: To promote artisanal products to attract tourists and boost local economies in craft-producing regions
  • Priority 3: To facilitate cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange between craftsmen and tourism SMEs across the EU
  • Priority 4: To support the development of innovative, sustainable tourism offers linked to traditional crafts

Among financed actions

  • Financial or technical support to help craftsmen promote traditional products
  • Organization of 3 hybrid workshops with 20 craftsmen from at least 5 countries
  • Launch 20 cross-border collaborative projects between craftsmen
  • Organization of hands-on workshops for tourists to experience traditional crafts

Eligibility

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
  • A consortium composed of at least 6 entities, established in at least 3 different EU Member States or associated countries to the programme must be constituted. See details on the call document.
