PERICLES IV – Protection of the euro against counterfeiting – 2025

Objectives 

• To support and supplement the measures undertaken by the Member States
• To assist the competent national and authorities in their efforts to develop among themselves and with the European Commission a close and regular cooperation and an exchange of best practices, where appropriate including third countries and international organisations

Priorities

• Priority 1 : To support activities aimed at improving cooperation among those Member States which are particularly affected by the production and distribution of counterfeits
• Priority 2 : To foster cooperation with authorities of third countries where there is suspicion, or evidence of, counterfeit euro production
• Priority 3 : To maintain an efficient framework for the protection of the euro in South Eastern Europe

• Workshops
• Meetings and seminars
• Exchanges of staff of competent national authorities
• Establishment of teaching resources
• Studies (multidisciplinary and transnational)
• Development of technical support instruments
• Purchase of equipment to be used by specialised anti-counterfeiting authorities of third countries

Eligibility

• Be a competent national authority in the area of the protection of the euro against counterfeiting
• Be a single applicant

Additional information 

• Initial duration of the action:
  • 7 months and 25 days for the first cut-off date from today
  • 10 months and 10 days for the second cut-off date from today

• Total budget of the call: 600.000 euros
• Amount of the grant: between 600.000 and 1.250.000 euro
• Funding rate: 75% of the total eligible costs (90% if the project is a “priority action”)
