Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To demonstrate a battery system for hybrid-electric propulsion, primarily for an Ultra-Efficient Regional aircraft concept considered for Entry Into Service by 2035
  • To demonstrate on ground the mechanical integration of a liquid hydrogen (LH2) tank installed in the aircraft rear fuselage section (caudal installation) and the crashworthiness safety for a CS-25 Hydrogen powered aircraft concept with an Entry in service (EIS) by 2035
  • To develop lifetime and reliability models up to TRL4 by combining extensive lifetime testing with physics of failure and process simulation models for advanced components based on Wide-Bandgap (WBG) devices (e.g., SiC or GaN)
