Priorities and funded actions

Objectives:

  • To advance human-artificial intelligence dialogue systems for defense applications
  • To develop high-performance human-AI dialogue systems for defense, addressing errors like hallucinations and adapting them to defense-specific needs, while ensuring trust through objective and comparative evaluations in a common testing environment
  • To establish a testing environment and organize a technological challenge to evaluate human-AI dialogue systems for defense, focusing on performance metrics, the management of classified information, and the justification of responses, with input from defense users to define use cases and provide feedback

Priorities:

  • Priority 1: To strenght EDTIB (European Defence Technological and Industrial Base) and enhanced technological autonomy for defence-oriented Human-AI dialogue systems
  • Priority 2: To enhance clarity on the performances of dialogue systems for all stakeholders, including system developers, funders, and users

  • Activities that aim to generate and integrate knowledge
  • Studies
  • Design

Eligibility:

  • Be a legal person
  • Be a public or private entity
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
  • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
  • Non-EU states : listed EEA countries and countries associated to the European Defence Fund (Click here)
  • Have its executive management structure established in eligible countries
  • Must not be subject to control by a non-associated third country or non-associated third-country entity
  • Project proposals must be submitted by a consortium of at least 2 entities based in at least 2 member states or associated countries
