Priorities and funded actions

Objectives:

  • To prevent and combat fraud, corruption and any other illegal activities affecting the EU financial interests, by reinforcing the investigate capability and capacity of national authorities.

Priorities:

  • Investigation and surveillance equipment and methods
  • Digital forensic hardware
  • Data analytics technologies and data purchases
  • Detection of illicit trade

Among financed actions:

  • Investigation and surveillance equipment and methods:
    • Purchase and maintenance of investigation  and  surveillance equipment and methods;
    • Purchase  of adapted  transport  equipment;
    • Specialised training to enable the staff to operate the tools.
  • Digital forensic hardware:
    • The purchase and maintenance of digital forensic equipment and software, like mobile forensic tools and computer forensic collaborative systems used in the fight against (fraudulent) irregularities, fraud and corruption detrimental to the EU financial interests.
  • Data analytics technologies and data purchases:
    • The purchase and maintenance of commercial specialised databases: data analysis platforms capable of running analysis in big data environments and risk and predictive analysis and data mining tools;
    • Training for the ‘Tobacco Tracking & Tracing’ database.
  • Detection of illicit trade:
    • The purchase and maintenance of equipment to strengthen beneficiaries’ operational and technical capacity to detect smuggled and counterfeited goods, including cigarettes and tobacco imported into the EU with the intention of evading VAT, customs duties and/or excise taxes.

Additional information:

  • This call for proposals is an open call for proposals. Initial duration of the action: between 12 and 24 months.

Eligibility:

  • Be a national or regional public authorities;
  • Be an international organization;
  • Be a research and educational institutes;
  • Be a non-profit making entity.
  • Be from a:
    • EU Member State;
    • listed EEA country or associated country to the EUAF Programme.
Financement
  • Amount of the grant: 9.3 million euro for the call (detailed budget not specified).
  • Co-financing rate: 80% of the total eligible costs (up to 90% if your project is a ‘priority action’).
