Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote competitiveness, scalability, cooperation, innovation and sustainability through mobility in the European audiovisual sector
  • To nurture talents, competence and skills and to stimulate cross-border cooperation, mobility and innovation in the creation and production of European audiovisual works

Priorities

  • Priority 1 : development of audiovisual works by European independent production companies
  • Priority 2 : to support the cooperation among European production companies that are developing works with a strong international audience potential

Among financed actions

  • Development of a single project for commercial exploitation intended for cinema release, television broadcasting or commercial exploitation on digital platforms or a multi-platform
  • Animation, creative documentary or fiction
  • Strategies for marketing and distribution

Eligibility

  • be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
    •  Creative Europe Participating Countries:
      •  EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))
      • non-EU countries: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Creative Europe Programme (list of participating countries)
  • be established in one of the countries participating fully in the MEDIA strand of the Creative Europe Programme and owned directly or indirectly, wholly or by majority participation, by nationals from such countries.
  • be independent European audiovisual production companies
  • the coordinator must be able to demonstrate recent experience in producing internationally distributed works.

A consortium composed of at least two entities, established in at least two different EU Member States or associated countries to the programme must be constituted.

  • Initial duration of the action: up to 30 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.

Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 9 million euros
  • Amount of the grant: depends on the number of eligible beneficiaries :
    • If the application is submitted by a consortium of two eligible beneficiaries, the maximum grant is EUR 120 000 euros
    • For each additional eligible beneficiary, the maximum EU grant increases with 60 000 euros
  • Funding rate: up to 70% of the total eligible costs

This grant is a lump sum grant.
