Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote cross-border cooperation between Member States, or between Member States and third countries, in the field of planning, development and the cost-effective exploitation of renewable energy sources
  • To support and contribute to the implementation of CB RES projects included in the Commission Delegated Regulation

Priorities

  • Priority 1: to enable CB RES projects which have significant socio-economic benefits to be implemented, within the framework of the renewable energy sector and in particular to support cross-border cooperation in the field of renewable energy
  • Priority 2: to support CB RES projects that do not receive adequate financing from the market and should maximise its added value towards uptake of renewable energy investments

Among financed actions

  • Mapping, evaluation, testing and validation studies
  • Purchase, supply and deployment of components, systems and services including software

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries:
    • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories)
    • countries associated to the CEF Programme or countries which are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before grant signature (list of participants countries)
  • Only projects having received a cross-border renewable energy status (CB RES status) based on a previous CB RES status call are eligible to submit a proposal under this call.
  • Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal.

  • Initial duration of the action: up to 2031-12-31

Financement
  • Total budget of the call: 150 million euros
  • Amount of the grant:  projects of any budget are admitted. The grant awarded may be lower than the amount requested.
  • Funding rate:
    • maximum 50% for the costs of studies and works
    • maximum 70% for the costs of works in outermost regions
