Priorities and funded actions

Objectives

  • To promote policy cooperation and innovative actions
  • To promote a diverse, independent and pluralistic media environment and media literacy
  • To promote cross-sectoral activities that aim at adjusting to the structural and technological changes faced by the media

 

Priorities

  • Priority 1: address the structural and technological changes faced by the media sector by promoting an independent and pluralistic media environment
  • Priority 2: support high-quality media production standard

 

Among financed actions

  • Events, online trainings and workshops for media professionals
  • Exchange programmes
  • Mentoring schemes
  • The development of technical tools
  • The improvement of distribution and dissemination of news

 

Eligibility

  • Be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • Be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e.:
    • Creative Europe Participating Countries:
      • EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))
      • non-EU countries:
  • Beneficiaries and affiliated entities must register in the Participant Register before submitting the proposal.
  • A consortium composed of
    • at least 3 entities, which complies different conditions (see details on the call document) must be constituted (Journalism Partnerships – Collaborations)
    • a single applicant or by a consortium of at least two applicants, which complies different conditions (see details on the call document) must be constituted Journalism Partnerships – Pluralism)

 

Additional information

  • Initial duration of the action: up to 24 months

Extensions are possible, if duly justified and through an amendment.

  • Total budget of the call: 13.8 million euros
  • Budget per topic: 6.9 million euros
  • Amount of the grant per topic :
    • Topic 1 : up to 2 million euros
    • Topic 2 : up to 2.5 million euros
  • Funding rate: between 80% for topic 1 and 90% for topic 2 of the total eligible costs
